NATE BUZELLI

Nate Buzelli is a director, screenwriter and producer, with experience in national and international festivals, and experience in every phase of audiovisual production. He has a Bachelor's degree in Cinema and Audiovisual from the Anhembi-Morumbi University, having passed throughSanta Fe University of Art and Design (NM, USA).

In addition to his work in film production, Nate is a composer, writer, published poet, film historian, and arts enthusiast.

Goals

"I want, above all, to make cinema in São Paulo (not audiovisual, not video: CINEMA) and I want to be able to help people do the same."

In addition to being recognized as a great filmmaker, Nate wants to change the structure of cinema creation and production in Brazil, creating a truly functional union that protects professionals, exposes them to contractors and guarantees fairer wages and working hours. He also dreams of founding a unified arts university. within the state of São Paulo, where collaboration and community prevail above all.

Style

Nate calls himself a classicist, having grown up with American, British and French classic cinema.

"From Garbo to Gabin, from Renoir to Hitchcock."

Among his main references are the aforementioned Alfred Hitchcock, Ingmar Bergman, Eric Rohmer, Steven Spielberg, Stanley Kubrick, John Ford, Wim Wenders, Alice Rohrwacher, Akira Kurosawa, Michelangelo Antonioni, David Fincher and Kzysztof Kieślowski.

References are not everything, however. Nate uses his worldview and urban experience as a creative and linguistic medium for his projects."São Paulo is my muse, and I feel I must show the world that she deserves to be a protagonist too."
